On September 25, 2012 our lives changed forever. At 6:50 am my wife, in a fit of rage, beat my 7 year old daughter with a 21" paint paddle. We are now engaged in a vicious fight for my children. Since she adopted the children in 2010, she has as much legal right to them as I do. Child welfare is still investigating the "allegations".
Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.
The vicious beating took place at 6:50 am. The school bus came at 7:00 am and my wife left for her school (she is a teacher). I phoned a few friends and family, and then called the Child Abuse Hotline. The children and I went to my mother's that evening. The next morning she came by and in another fit of rage, attempted to take the children. The 14 year old went with her. I now have the other 4 and she has the oldest.
A few hours later she sold my pickup to her father and he stole it from the child welfare parking lot. This left my and y 7 year old stranded. The farm is over 5 miles from town and I had no way to get there to feed and water. An email from her that day stated: Yes, I am caring for the chickens, goat and dog. A week later her attorney returned the pickup. We drove out to check on our livestock. She had removed many, including the livestock guardian dog, goat and the Chanteclers. Some bantams are also gone. What we did find was piles of dead chickens. Over 100 juveniles were piled under their roost. They had died from dehydration and starvation while on their roosts. The sheriff said that the livestock was marital property and thus she could do what she wanted with them. No charges of animal cruelty and neglect was permitted to be filed. In her haste to protect herself, she released all poultry to free range. Predators killed many more.
Last week she removed her mobile home and relinquished the farm to my sole control. We are now trying to rebuild the flocks. We have some breeding pens reset. We lost all male Black Orpingtons, but a friend has offered a cockerel from our eggs. Our “Golden Gentleman” Buff Orpington male had his neck broken and left for me to find.
If we owe you hatching eggs, we will do our utmost to fill all orders in due time. Refunds will be given as soon as possible. I am having a lot of issues with my back and no one will hire me. Doing lawn service is impossible as she had the lawn equipment “repossessed”. Even my table saw we use for building coops is missing.
I do promise I will make it good with whomever I owe eggs to. I will not be on forums as often as I have been. Just too much personal business to attend to.
Again, your prayers are appreciated!
Jim
Note: We now have the livestock guardian dog and goats returned. Child welfare has now opened a new 2013 investigation into new bruises on the same child. The referral was made by me.
